Bernadette Laumann, Ph.D. is the Project Coordinator at the Illinois Early Learning Project located at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She shares her expertise with the Virtual Lab School by developing the course modules for the Manager track. Dr. Laumann holds a B.S. in Psychology, Ed.M. in Early Childhood Special Education and a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has taught a variety of university courses and has supervised teacher candidates in practicum placements in parent/infant playgroups, community Head Start and public school settings. Dr. Laumann has been a childcare teacher, early childhood special education teacher, principal of a NAEYC accredited inclusive public school pre-k program, researcher, and a project coordinator for federal- and state-funded grants. Dr. Laumann enjoys the VLS project because it has provided her an opportunity to collaborate with talented colleagues to design and deliver evidence-based, high quality professional development materials to the individuals who provide daily care to children and youth enrolled in military-sponsored child care and youth programs.
