Thomas Grant, M.Ed. is a content contributor with the Virtual Lab School. Thomas assisted with the creation of the Training and Curriculum Specialist modules on Creativity, Social Development, Guidance, and Self. He also conducted internal reviews and revisions of the Child Abuse and Neglect Identification and Reporting courses. In 2007, Thomas began working with youth at risk as a volunteer mentor and tutor with multiple organizations throughout Seattle, Washington and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Teaching at Seattle University. He opened a comprehensive program for middle school students with emotional and behavioral disabilities in the Seattle area. He is currently a doctoral student in Secondary Special Education at the University of Washington. He plans to focus his research on improving the outcomes of students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Thomas enjoys learning about the military childcare system and supporting teachers’ important work by contributing his knowledge of school-age programs and behavior support to the VLS.
