Supplemental Training

Resources, tools, and supplemental trainings to support implementation of high-quality evidence-informed practices.

Child Abuse Supplemental Trainings

Understanding how to prevent child abuse—and how to quickly report and respond to suspected abuse or neglect—is a critical component of high‑quality care. The following trainings were developed to ensure that all professionals can recognize key indicators, understand developmentally appropriate expectations, and follow proper reporting procedures.

Modeled after our Targeted Professional Development (TPD) modules, these DoW Supplemental Trainings are brief refreshers focused on essential, high‑impact concepts related to the safety of children and youth. They meet annual training requirements and align with DoDI, CDA, NAEYC, and COA standards.

Supplemental Trainings can be completed individually or as part of a group session, either by viewing the online materials or by printing a copy for in‑person use. You can view the official memorandum and learn more about completion requirements in previous VLS news articles.
