We know that engaging in high-quality professional development can enhance care and education professionals’ knowledge and skills. However, to create a context that fosters positive change, we must engage child and youth program (CYP) professionals in supportive ways. In this webinar, we provide an overview of the VLS professional development system, including the essential elements of our VLS content and how the system is structured to support adult learners. We highlight strategies for orienting new CYP professionals to the VLS and expectations for engagement with the system. We also discuss key ways that Training & Curriculum Specialists can engage and support professionals throughout their coursework. During the webinar we highlight VLS tools and resources that set the stage for initial engagement with the VLS, assist with navigating the system, and support continual engagement over time.
