High‑quality early math experiences promote essential cognitive skills, such as problem solving, memory, and critical thinking, which lay the foundation for future learning and academic success. In this webinar, we will explore current research on early math skills development and discuss why everyday interactions such as play, routines, hands‑on exploration, and real‑world experiences provide meaningful opportunities for math learning. We will highlight what math experiences look like across age groups, from infancy through youth, and share practical strategies for integrating math language, materials, and concepts into daily environments and interactions. We will also examine how leaders can support educators by modeling math thinking, using a “math lens” during planning, and building staff confidence through coaching and professional development. Additionally, we will highlight VLS tools and resources that can help strengthen math experiences across your program.
This training is designed primarily for Program Managers, Training & Curriculum Specialists, and other CYP program leaders. To attend you must have a Virtual Lab School (VLS) account. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email directly from Government Zoom containing information about joining the webinar. Registration for this webinar is limited to the first 500 individuals.
