The Virtual Lab School (VLS) Supplemental Child Abuse Trainings are also now available as Targeted Professional Development (TPD) modules for CYP professionals with a VLS account. Originally developed to support annual training requirements related to child abuse prevention, identification, and reporting, these trainings provide the same essential content in a format that supports enrollment, progress tracking, assessment completion, and certification through the VLS platform. CYP personnel without a VLS account should continue to access the Supplemental Child Abuse Trainings to meet any mandates issued by the Office of the Secretary of War. CYP professionals with a VLS account can now be enrolled in the Targeted Professional Development modules so that completion can be certified and tracked.
The three trainings available as TPD modules include:
- Appropriate Expectations & Responses to Behavior
- Reporting Child Abuse in Your Program
- Enhancing Protective Factors of Children and Families
This updated format allows program leaders to assign, complete, and document required professional development through the VLS platform while continuing to strengthen practices that support the safety and well-being of children and youth.
